The championships concluded with the individual singles
events for both juniors and seniors. There were 120 entrants altogether which was
considerably higher for the individuals than last year, when the individuals was first
played. The total number of teams playing was down however form 38 teams last year to 34
this year.
Senior Boys
Lingnan Kong (St Kents) beat Aaron Page (Hamilton BHS)
in the final 3 games to 1.
The bronze medal playoff saw Terry Zeng (Macleans) beat Zhiyang
Cheng (Macleans) by 3 games to 1.
Junior Boys
Roger Rao (Auckland Grammar) beat Liam Young (Albany
JHS) 3 games to 0.
The bronze medal playoff saw Xu Ning (Auckland Grammar) beat Daniel
Lowe (St Kentigerns) 3 games to 1.
Senior Girls
Angie Guo (Auckland International) beat Michelle Zhao
(Westlake GHS) 3 games to 0.
Bronze medal went to Amanda Yeung (Rangitoto) who beat Karen Zeng
(Epsom GGS) 3 games to 0.
Junior Girls
Dawn Ee (Epsom GGS) beat Samantha Ong (Epsom GGS) 3
games to one.
Bronze medal match saw Ellen Xiong (Hutt Valley High) beat Lingshu
Liu (Westlake GHS) 3 games to 0.
