Reports To: Table Tennis New Zealand (TTNZ) Management.

Background
Table Tennis New Zealand (TTNZ) is the recognised governing body for table tennis in New Zealand, accredited with the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), International Table Tennis Federation-Oceania (ITTF-Oceania), Sport New Zealand (Sport NZ), High-Performance Sport New Zealand (HPSNZ), Paralympics New Zealand (PNZ), and the New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC). TTNZ are seeking dedicated and dynamic individual(s) to be the Team Manager(s) and lead our team at the ITTF-Oceania Senior Championships and/or ITTF-Oceania Youth Championships.
Position Overview
The Team Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation, logistics and wellbeing of the team, ensuring effective communication between coaches and athletes and supporting the team’s development objectives. This role includes managing administrative tasks, coordinating logistics and fostering a positive team culture.
The Team manager will also have pastoral care responsibilities, providing support and guidance to young athletes, ensuring their well-being and addressing any personal or emotional needs that arise.
Additionally, the Team Manager will supervise and manage the coaching staff, ensuring they are contributing positively to the development of New Zealand's young athletes.

Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Good level of spoken and written English.
- Previous experience managing a team, professional or sporting.
- Full NZ Driver’s license.
- Has a current clearance from TTNZ Police Vetting process.
- Completion of online learning modules:
- Basic or higher level First Aid Certification is preferred.

- Complaints, Disciplinary Actions and Appeals Policies and Procedures
Time Commitment

Availability from the time of appointment until the submission of the event report and financial report after the event concludes.

Please note preference will be given to candidates residing in New Zealand.
Key Responsibilities: (Pre, During and Post event)
Pre-Event
-
Ensure any required equipment in preparation for the trip is coordinated e.g., first aid kit, balls.

Liaise and meet with Team personnel (Coaches) to ensure everyone understands their roles and responsibilities.

Confirm venues, schedule, meals and travel arrangements with TTNZ staff.

Ensure awareness of final team communications and meeting logistics.
-
Ensure access and awareness of any players' allergies, dietary needs, health issues, and emergency contact information.
During Event
-
Monitor event schedule and keep track of team activities.
-
Address any immediate issues or concerns that arise.
-
Support coaches and players with logistical needs.
-
Ensure all coaches and players know their training/ competition times and locations.
-
Confirm that all coaches and players are comfortable with their accommodation arrangements.

Ensure dietary needs of coaches and players are met and any special requirements are addressed.
-
Regularly check in with coaches and players to address any concerns about their stay and meals.
-
Provide updates to TTNZ, coaches, players and parents as necessary.
-
Maintain open communication channels for feedback and updates.
-
Conduct a daily debrief with the team to review the day's activities.
-
Address any issues or concerns that arose during the day.

Plan and communicate the daily logistics around training and/or competition schedule for the following day.

Ensure adherence to TTNZ and ITTF rules and regulations.
-
Be prepared to handle emergencies or medical needs promptly.
-
Maintain a visible presence to support and motivate the team.
-
Ensure athletes with medical conditions are taken care of and have their needs met.
-
Track expenses and manage the event budget.
-
Keep records of all expenditures and receipts.
-
Take photographs to share with TTNZ staff and for event documentation.
Post Event

Conduct a debriefing session with coaches and players.
-
Gather feedback on the event and team performance.
-
Document lessons learned and areas for improvement.
-
Compile detailed and accurate reports on team performance, activities and financial status.

Present findings and recommendations clearly and professionally within two weeks after the conclusion of the event.

Remuneration
Team Manager will be remunerated for services provided in accordance with TTNZ team manager rates, which will be detailed in the letter of engagement issued to appointed team manager.
