What the Club Coach Education Course Includes:
- 2 days of practical and theory based coach education sessions.
- TTNZ will provide daily lunch for participants.
- Each Club Coaching Course participant will receive a manual, TTNZ Handouts.
- TTNZ will provide police vetting service for all participants. This is a compulsory aspect of coach certification in NZ.
- Participants/coaches are required to arrange their own travel and accommodation and meet costs.
CONTENT COVERED
- Recommended for: School teachers, community, club and association volunteers.
- Knowledge you will gain: Understanding the role of a coach, children’s needs, stages of skill learning, legal responsibilities, basic table tennis techniques, and fun introductory games, skills circuits, lesson plans, competition format possibilities and different spins.
- Techniques and skills covered: Warm-ups, grip, ready position, forehand and backhand drive, forehand and backhand push, multiball introduction, footwork and serves.
- Player level: School, club, and association beginner to intermediate level players.
- Resource provided: ITTF handouts.
ACCREDITATION REQUIREMENTS
- Attend 100% of the course and engage in all course activities.
- Have a current NZ police vetting clearance.
- Course participation certificate issued.

CONTENT COVERED
- Recommended for: Club and association coaches, regional and national level players transitioning to coaching.
- Knowledge you will gain: Training guidelines for juniors, equipment, physical training, introduction to sport sciences, rules and umpiring, competition formats, tournament organisation. Para table tennis including classification, accessibility, equipment, terminology, techniques, tactics and rules.
- Techniques and skills covered: Techniques beyond the basics; blocking, flicking, counter-drives, foot-work variations, tetra-loop.
- Player level: All playing levels; beginner to national level.
- Resource provided: ITTF-PTT Level 1 Coaching Manual.
ACCREDITATION REQUIREMENTS*
- Attend 100% of the course and engage in all course activities.
- Pass the practical coaching presentation during the course.
- Complete the post-course 30h practical coaching requirements; 20h group coaching, 5h coaching disabled athletes, 5h coaching under TTNZ appointed supervision to a satisfactory level.
- Have a current NZ police vetting clearance.
- Certification will be issued upon completion of all accreditation requirements.
- Coach will appear on the ITTF certified coaching database.
*Coaches are only eligible to receive one certificate at the highest eligible level of course they complete. For example, if a coach participates in the full ITTF-PTT Level 1 coach course and passes the practical presentation, they are ONLY eligible to receive an ITTF-PTT L1 certificate, and this will only be issued once all accreditation requirements are complete. This is an ITTF ruling.

Option 3 - Full ITTF-PTT L1 Coach Course
The course includes 4.5 days of practical and theory based coach education sessions. Including the compulsory Para sessions and ITTF-PTT L1 practical assessments. To complete this course you MUST register for both courses below
