Ready to give your brain a workout?
This April, TTNZ is inviting everyone to pick up a bat and join our Have-A-Go for Brain Health initiative, aligned with ITTF World Table Tennis Day.
This global celebration is all about fun, friendship and participation.
This is not about being the best player in the room.
It is about laughing, moving, connecting and trying something new.
Table tennis is known to be a whole brain workout and for good reason.
Every rally gets your brain firing as you:
• Track the ball with your eyes
• Coordinate your hands and feet
• React in split seconds
• Think ahead and adjust your strategy
• Recognise patterns
• Make quick decisions
All while having fun.

Have-A-Go day is for everyone.
Never played before? Perfect.
Haven’t played in years? Even better.
Bringing the kids? Bring them along.
Grandparents? Absolutely.
By joining a Have-A-Go session, you are not only boosting your own brain health and wellbeing.
You are also part of a worldwide movement celebrating joy, inclusion and connection through table tennis.
So grab a friend, bring your family or come along solo and meet new people.
Come for the fun.
Stay for the rallies.
Leave with a smile and a sharper brain.
Why participate in this fun event?

Boost your brain health
Table tennis sharpens focus, reaction speed, memory and decision making.
It is a true whole of brain and body workout. Improve your health and your mind.

Boost memory and pattern recognition
As you play, you naturally remember spin, placement and playing patterns. This activates memory recall and helps your brain recognise and adapt to new situations quickly.

Improve reaction speed and decision making
Table tennis requires split second decisions. Your brain processes visual information, predicts movement and responds almost instantly. This sharpens neural pathways that support faster thinking in everyday life.

Enhance coordination and brain body connection
The constant link between what you see, think and do strengthens hand eye coordination and balance. This full brain activation supports overall cognitive function and healthy ageing.
