TTNZ Annual Player Ranking Regulations
1 Annual Rankings
1.1 Application of Regulations
1.1.1 Annual Ranking lists shall be produced once each year by the National Team Selectors.
1.1.2 Annual Ranking lists shall be produced for the following age groups:
- Open Men
- Open Women
- Under 19 Boys
- Under 19 Girls
- Under 15 Boys
- Under 15 Girls
1.1.3 A maximum of ten players shall be ranked in each age group.
1.1.4 The period of results that will be taken into consideration for the Annual Rankings is from the day after the completion of a New Zealand Open Championships in one calendar year to the last day of the New Zealand Open Championships in the following calendar year.
1.2 Eligibility
1.2.1 Only players eligible to represent New Zealand internationally are eligible to be considered for an Annual Ranking. An eligible player is defined as:
i) A player born in New Zealand who holds a New Zealand passport
OR
ii) A player who holds a New Zealand passport and has served their stand-down period on the ITTF Eligibility Register.
1.2.2 The age eligibility for junior players shall be as at the 31st of December of the previous calendar year.
1.2.3 To qualify for an Annual Ranking a player must participate in a minimum of three ranking tournaments in an age group. Graded events do not count for the Open age group.
1.2.4 Players are encouraged to play in as many tournaments as possible over and above the minimum requirements.
1.2.5 Only results obtained in each age group will contribute to consideration for an Annual Ranking for that age group. This is summarised in the table below:

1.2.6 Cognisance shall be taken of the number of winning performances in finals and semi-finals.
1.2.7 New Zealand citizens living and playing overseas shall be considered for an Annual Ranking on merit, subject to them being fully compliant with 1.2.1.
1.3 Ranking Tournaments
Results at the following tournaments will be taken into consideration when the Annual Ranking lists are being decided:
1.3.1 International Tournaments, including but not limited to:
i) Olympic Games
ii) Commonwealth Games and Commonwealth Championships
iii) ITTF World Championships (Teams and Individuals)
iv) ITTF-Oceania Championships and ITTF-Oceania Youth Championships
v) ITTF-Oceania Cup and ITTF World Cups
vi) World Table Tennis (WTT) events, Senior and Youth
vii) National Championships of ITTF member countries
1.3.2 National Tournaments
1.3.3 Association Open Tournaments of TTNZ affiliated Associations
1.3.4 Regional Tournaments
1.3.5 Tournaments sanctioned by TTNZ, during which players earn ranking points for the Ranking and
Merit lists.
