Purpose of the Hopes Programme:
The NZ Hopes Week and Challenge is New Zealand’s top development opportunity for aspiring U12 and U13 table tennis players. It brings together the country’s most promising young athletes to learn, grow, and be inspired by leading international and national coaches in a fun, supportive, and high-energy environment. Across four days of focused training and one day of competitive match play, players build skills, confidence, and a deeper love for the game.
As part of the ITTF High Performance & Development pathway, the Hopes Programme helps identify and support young talent around the world. The NZ Hopes Week and Challenge is the first step on this journey, giving our top U12 athletes the chance to qualify for the ITTF-Oceania Hopes Week & Challenge. For many players, this is a special opportunity to represent New Zealand for the first time and to begin exploring future performance pathways at an international level.
This programme is not just an event; it’s the beginning of a journey that can open doors to development, aspiration, and long-term excellence.
