TTNZ Welcomes Luuka Jones to the Operations Team

Table Tennis New Zealand is very excited to welcome Luuka Jones to the operations team in a communication and marketing role. Luuka is a four time Olympian and Olympic medallist in the sport of canoe slalom. She has a degree in business studies, majoring in communications and a certificate in graphic design.

“I am delighted to have been selected in this new role with Table Tennis New Zealand” says Luuka. “The opportunity to work with the team at TTNZ to improve our online presence, increase the quality and consistency of online communication and to help share all of the amazing stories that exist within the sport is something I am really passionate about.”

“Social media is an important aspect of any organisation. When people visit the TTNZ instagram page, we want them to feel connected to the sport. My goal is to really showcase how amazing the sport of table tennis is in New Zealand using exciting photos and videos. I will work hard to communicate news and stories, both internally but also externally through New Zealand media platforms.”

Luuka is currently training for the Paris Olympics, and this role is an opportunity to develop in areas outside of sport. “I am a creative person and really enjoy photography, graphic design and creative writing. This role combines those things with my other passion, which is sport. As a high performing athlete, it is important to have goals outside of sport, and this role is very motivating for me.”

“I endeavour to learn as much as I can about table tennis and the community so that I can do the best job possible in this role. I will be reaching out to different members and groups within the organisation to gather content and stories.”

If you have any interesting stories or content that you would like to share, or would like to introduce yourself, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Luuka via email luukajones.comms@gmail.com
